With the students safely deposited at markets Ben Thanh Market. Yes safely – they can cross the road by themselves – we checked.
Tim’s parting advice was muffled but sounded like “shop till you drop”. For your Happy Buddha it was then time for a quick pho.
Before jumping in a cab and heading to the madness that is Binh Tay Market, located in Saigon’s Chinatown.
The back to the city and meet the students to watch the sun go down from the 52 floor of the Bitexco Tower. It is an amazing building styled on the shape of a lotus flower. The view breath taking ( shame about the weather tonight but…)
Then off to dinner with Phil Johns & Tim Clements from the Vietnam Swans. Vietnam’s very own AFL team. Conversation ranged from sport in Vietnam, to Aussie business in this country, life as an expat, importance of networking and setting up businesses in Vietnam. Tim has a had plenty of experience here telling them about the range of his companies – engineering to social media.
Then an important part of today – the presentation of a signed GWS jersey to help the Vietnam Swans in their charity work.
All in all a good day – plenty for everybody to reflect on 🤔
